How to Brows the Internet with SRT Decoders


Different brands of Decoders offer today the possibility to browse the Internet or some Web Applications on their TV Receivers.  In order to enjoy such features you need of course to have an Internet connection & own a TV Receiver compatible with the Internet.
Here is a list of Digital Satellite Receivers available in Africa that can be connected to the Internet:

STRONG Receivers:

  • SRT 4950, SRT 4950H & SRT 4950M
  • SRT 4940
  • SRT 4675 & SRT 4675A
  • SRT 4922 & SRT 4922A
  • SRT 4930 & SRT 4930L

In order to connect your TV receiver to the Internet you have to:

Make sure you have installed the latest software.
In order to check your software version proceed as follow on a STRONG receiver (Go to Menu, System Information, S/W Version), then compare your software version with the latest software released here: If you don’t have the latest version, please proceed with an update of your software.

  1. Make sure your Internet connection is working
  2. Plug your Ethernet cable (from your modem/switch…) to your receiver
  3. Go to Menu, System System Settings, IP Settings
  4. Press the red button of your remote control in order to proceed with a SCAN of your IP Settings.
  5. It’s done, you should be able to enjoy the built-in Web application of your receiver
 Some receivers give you the possibility to browse the Internet using 3G modem stick or a WiFi Dongle:
