High Chief Aloysius Nnamdi Ikegwuonu (Ebubechukwuzo, Akuchinyere Nwata 1, Uzochukwu kwalu 1 of Umueje, The Bishop) is a native of Ofufe Amakwa Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area, Anambra State.
He lives in South Africa but recently came back to Nigeria. He celebrated his 36th birthday on May 1st, 2017.
In 2015, a gang war broke out in South Africa between two drug cartels which led to death of over 15 people, both in South Africa and Nigeria.
A South African returnee who narrated the story said the war was all about the control and ownership of what he referred to as "a park"(a place where they sell hard drugs in Johannesbourg, South Africa). The South African government has since taken over the place.
So many people, mostly Ozubulu indigenes left South Africa in 2016 when the war was at its peak.
Bishop returned like many others and immediately began community development through his foundation(Ebubechukwu Uzo Foundation).
In April 2017, he was invited by the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano to witness a road construction flag-off in his town.
On the 2nd of May 2014, he gave out N10 million to 10 beneficiaries to start a business. He pays a monthly stipend of N10,000 to widows and aged people in his town Ozubulu. He has been doing that till date.
He also scheduled another program for the widows on September 29th 2017 in commemoration of his wife's birthday.
On Saturday, July 22nd, 2017, High Chief Ikegwuonu(Bishop) handed over three cars to the newly ordained Priests of Ozubulu. This he usually does for all the newly ordained priests every year.
Those present at the ceremony were, Rev. Fr. Chidoluo of St Michael's Parish Amakwa, Rev. Fr Ezeimo of St Joseph's Parish Egbema, Rev. Fr. Kizito of St Kevin's Parish Nza and Rev. Fr. Paul of St Michael's Parish Eziora, all in Ozubulu at St. Philip's Catholic Church, Umuezekwe Ofufe Amakwa Ozubulu.
