A fake female soldier allegedly arrested with bombs
a few weeks ago in Abuja, was tried in court on
Friday. The lady identified as Rose John was also
arrested for parading herself as an army major with
the name 'Juliana Gumel'.
She was widely reported to have been caught with
explosives and some children but this was later
discovered to be false. She was paraded by the
guards brigade in Abuja. The verdict has not been
made public yet.
According to a statement made available by Col.
Sani Kusheka on behalf of the Nigerian army, John
also claimed to be a serving medical doctor and
was found fully dressed in army camouflage. An
outdated army ID card was recovered from the
suspect.
