Founder of DAAR Communications and owner of AIT, Chief Raymond Dokpesi, has said he will not step down for anyone in the race for the chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

While reacting to reports that he has withdrawn his ambition in the interest of Olabode George, former vice-chairman of the PDP in the south-west, High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, said that he will not step down for anyone in the race for the national chairmanship position of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The founder of DAAR Communications, Dokpesi said he remains the candidate to beat, adding that he has been busy meeting with delegates across the country, telling them of his plans to rebuild the party.
A statement issued on his behalf by his media team read;
“High Chief Dokpesi is busy meeting the delegates and outlining his programmes for the reformation and rebuilding of the PDP.
“He is not considering stepping down for anyone as he is widely accepted by delegates across the country. He remains the candidate to beat.”
The statement maintained that Dokpesi has visited sixteen states and will visit the remaining twenty states and the FCT before the convention.
”As at noon of Saturday, 30th July, we have visited all the states in the southern region, except Ekiti, which we are heading to now.
“We will be meeting delegates from the northern region as from Sunday so High Chief Dokpesi is committed to the campaign and he is confident that he will win by the grace of God and the support of the delegates,” the statement read.
