court today
At a Federal Capital Territory High Court today, June
27, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, deputy
Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, the former chief
clerk of the National Assembly, Salisu Maikasuwa
and the deputy chief clerk of the legislature,
Benedict Efeturi were arraigned over forgery
allegations.
Saraki and the three other accused persons were
arraigned for forging the Senate Standing Rule and
Order of 2015.
In solidarity to the lawmakers and all other accused
person scores of senators accompanied the
accused persons to the court.
The lawmakers who appeared in court said they
came in solidarity with the Senate president and his
deputy arrived the courthouse in a convoy of a
white coaster bus and many other vehicles..
Among the senators who were present in court
today, June, 27, include the senator representing
Anambra North senatorial district, Stella Oduah; the
senator representing Kogi West constituency, Dino
Melaye; senator representing Kaduna Central, Shehu
Sani among many others.
